Saturday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday, 10:00am - 4:00pm
August 24 and 25, 2019
Participants in this 2-day intensive will push boundaries and open new creative pathways while exploring the exciting, complex world of contemporary art. Large individual work spaces will be assigned for the entire two-day workshop, providing ample space and time to dive deeply into new projects and the ease of leaving materials and works in progress overnight in the studio. A wide variety of drawing and painting materials and approaches will stimulate exciting new works with discussions centered on materiality, sustainability, spaciality, locality, and social/cultural relevancy. Sketchbook assignments will be included to jumpstart new ideas and creative growth, and individual and group reviews of work will provide valuable feedback and support. A wide range of painting and drawing materials will be provided but students are encouraged to bring their own brushes and any other materials they regularly use. Students can bring their own lunches or purchase food at nearby markets and cafes. With limited space for this workshop, early registration is strongly encouraged.
