Participants in this printmaking workshop will work with a variety of Chine Colle (collage) processes while creating one-of-a-kind mixed-media monoprints. Working with water-based block ink on acrylic plates, students will make paper collages to be printed onto and into and, conversely, develop monoprints as foundations for layered collage pieces. An assortment of traditional and non-traditional papers will be available including vellum, rag paper, rice paper, decorative paper, drafting paper, book pages, and maps. Students are welcome to bring their own papers too. This workshop is open to students of all levels and all of the materials will be provided. there will be a 30 minute lunch break and students can bring sack lunches or purchase food at nearby cafes and markets.
